Our boat didn’t depart the dock until 5.00pm, which wasn’t so impressive at first and then when we entered the water & the viz had dropped to about 10metres I had a few choice words to say about diving so late in the day. However, once we descended past about 15 metres the viz cleared up to about 20 odd metres , there was quite a bit of surge, but that was OK as we had not planned on entering the wreck anyway. We swam around the bow of the sub checking out the torpedo tubes, bow ring and conning tower, then back up the shot line for what turned out to be a rather good dive.

Was on the same dive and we did penetrate through the main body of the sub. Inside the surge dropped off significantly and as there we were the only ones in there, the visibility was excellent. It was probably one of my best dives on the J4 to date!
